As the name implies, functional neuro-orthopedic rehab (FNOR) is the blend of functional neurology and orthopedics. This branch of medicine believes that there is never just a singular cause for pain, as multiple areas of the body should be systematically examined from the bottom up. FNOR promotes recovery by stimulating the body and brain through physical training, which increases strength and mobility while reducing overall pain. It’s a non-invasive approach that often treats post-surgery failure, but is not limited to treating any other form of chronic-musculoskeletal pain. The key areas that FNOR examines are arms, shoulders, spine, hips, and legs.
